Feedback about Presentation Slides

Only 6 groups have sent me their power-point slides so far. If you do not send them in promptly then you cannot expect your teacher to give you feedback and/or comments promptly.

Some general pointers for those who have submitted:

1. Ensure that your slides are not too wordy. Have your information in point form and elaborate on the rest during presentation.

2. Under 'similarities', you may want to mention about the relevance or how similar your project is to the themes and/or context of the novel.

3. The design and colour of the background of your slides should not clash with the font. Font size should be at least 24 for visibility.

4. Do include pictures and/or research to show the processes.

*Note: you can still send me emails of your slides if you need further comments.

Reminder!

Dear Binners

See the previous post about presentation schedule and instructions. Leaders please email me the names of your presenters. There should be 2 presenters in each group. Please also prepare a spare thumb-drive on the actual exam day in case the original is faulty.

All the best for preparation and

How To Make Texture Cards!

Note: Children would usually be attracted to books that have textures and possibly 'movements' i.e. books that involve the readers' sense of touch!

Reminder

Dear Binners,

This is a reminder for all to post updates on the progress of your project. Some of you have yet to do so. I hope that you have also made the changes that I have specifically told you in the last lesson. I want pictures (showing clear view of your faces and not model shots!) of ALL group members to be up on your blogs too.

Chenxi's group: Your blog is the only one that is PLAIN WHITE. Also, you have to create 'comments' boxes so that I can post comments and give advice. I would also need to see evidences of your progress (eg. sketches, drafts of events, ideas, etc). If nothing is done before class this Thursday, your group will have 0 marks.

Examples of Videos for Research

Dear Binners,

I have checked through your blogs and I am pleased to see interesting ideas that some of you have for your artefacts. Keep it up and I am sure you will be able to complete your projects on time!

Here are some videos which you may find useful as you work on your projects. However, you are still expected to do researches and do not forget to cite the web page(s). Refer to Rubric for Blog for more details.

SCRAPBOOKING For Beginners - Design Principles

Note: Although the video mentions only photos, you can adopt this principle or idea and think about how you would present your artefacts, diary entries, descriptions about your artefacts etc.

How To Draw Cartoon Facial Expressions

Note: As mentioned in the video, the cartoon template can be improvised creatively to achieve the expressions your want. Research online for more ideas!
